GIVING BACK TO BEECHER TOWN

The Beecher Town Give Back Association is a group of philanthropists living in Jamaica and the United States of America. The Group came into existence in 2010, with its official launch in August 2011.
Norman Brown, one of the Jamaican-based board members explained to The Times that the Association is a non-profit charitable organization, developed to create positive changes in the lives of the poor and vulnerable in  Beecher Town and surrounding areas. It is also tasked with providing assistance with nutritional food, healthcare, education and meeting other community needs through outreach.
The association has over one hundred and fifty members, locally and internationally. The overseas members are persons from the community who now reside in the United States.

The Community home coming is celebrated bi- annually with four days of activities including dance and family fun day, church service and a health fair, offering medical services including optical and dental care to members of the community.

The association launched its first raffle in June and the drawing was done independently on Friday, August 22.  The winner is Donald Williams of Grierfield, Moneague, St Ann.  He won for himself a tablet.
The proceed of the raffle will go towards the Beecher Town Primary School, Beecher Town Basic School and the Salisbury Basic School.
