The following release was issued by the Office of the Children’s Advocate (OCA)

The Office of The Children’s Advocate (OCA) is shocked and saddened by reports of the beheading of a two-year-old in Roadside District, St. Ann. The OCA wishes to extend its deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of the child during this difficult time.

“Whenever the Office receives news of such a heinous report it always affects our sensibilities, as the level of violence against our children is unacceptable and we must as a nation stand up against these atrocities. Absolutely no parent or guardian should be forced to come to terms with losing a child in such a vicious manner,” Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison noted.

The release also said the OCA stood ready to give the Police full support in thoroughly investigating the matter. Also, it said the OCA will be dispatching its Emergency Focal Point Team to the community, to get further information.
