KINDER KOLLEGE AND CHILD CARE

kinder2The safe, clean and attractive environment is the first thing you’ll possibly notice as you arrive at Kinder Kollege and Child Care, located just outside of Ocho Rios, at 91 Main Street. The school offers both a nursery and kindergarten which are operated under the motto ‘Where learning never ends.’The school was founded by two sisters, Kemeisha Ottar and Kimone Hall in August of 2010. It began as a nursery and by January of 2011, the school added the kindergarten component to accommodate students up to five years old. The school has fifteen members of staff which include four directors, six pre-school teachers, two child caregivers, a school administrator, office attendant and security guard. There are 82 students on roll.Managing director of the school, Kemeisha Ottar told North Coast Times that Kinder Kollege and Child Care is a registered institution. “We are registered with the Ministry through the Early Childhood Commission and all our teachers are certified with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.”In addition to the prescribed school curriculum, students are exposed to Spanish, computer studies, dancing, music and karate. There is an after-care programme which is of no cost to the parent. Students are assisted with homework and extra-curricular activities which are provided under this programme. The school also has a Care Bear Club which had an out-reach programme where gifts inclusive of toys were donated to children of the pediatric ward at the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital last year.Kinder Kollege and Child Care is a school which is leading the pursuit of excellence in a beautiful environment for students to become valuable citizens in society.
