The Ocho Rios police in St Ann have taken one man into custody in connection with the shooting and wounding of three people along the Ocho Rios Bypass, on Tuesday, April 7.

The police have also identified a person of interest, Kerique Cudrat of the volatile Falkland community near Mansfield Heights Ocho Rios, St Ann, who they say can assist with the investigations.

Police say the man who was taken into custody is to undergo an identification parade. He was taken into custody after three people; two men and a woman were pounced upon and shot while walking along the Ocho Rios Bypass.

Reports are that shortly after midnight on Tuesday, April 7, the three were walking along the Ocho Rios Bypass when they were approached by two men brandishing guns. The men reportedly opened fire hitting the three, and then made their escape on foot. They were taken to hospital where they were treated and released the following day. Police say the three did not sustain any major injuries.

The Ocho Rios police are appealing to Kerique Cudrat, who has a case before the court and is on bail to turn himself in to the police. They believe Cudrat can assist with the investigations.
