A lot of people have been talking about the merger between LIME and FLOW but for us in this part of Jamaica, let me say the first signs are no good.
I live in Tower Isle, St Mary and we do business in Ocho Rios generally. Flow had a big store at Pineapple with staff and the option to pay bills right there.
LIME had a shop in the town centre and had space at the back for one very good staff member who handled complaints, mainly for land line and the internet.
Now Flow has put all their staff into this back room of a much smaller building – admittedly in a more central space. They have removed the payment option, though LIME sells credit and devices in the front. There is nowhere near the level of comfort one used to get at FLOW, Pineapple.
Now, LIME-FLOW has only two staff now taking queries and complaints from people from all over St Ann and St Mary. They have a piece of paper on the wall with an arrow showing which staff member is dealing with LIME and which FLOW.
We are also watching to see what quality of internet service we will be getting now that LIME has attracted more infrastructure.
