LIME HALL 5 Missing…Fears after fire and theft

A major investigation is underway into the disappearance of five people following an arson attack in Lime Hall, St Ann, Friday night.

As we went to press, The Times was receiving reports that no one has been able to say what has happened to up to four members of a family and a child staying with them who disappeared Friday night after their house was burnt down and pimento worth hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen in the Sussex section of Lime Hall, near St Ann’s Bay.

Superintendent of Police for St Ann, Wayne Cameron confirmed police had entered the investigation that had commenced with reports to the fire brigade that had gone to the scene. Reports are that two out buildings and a five apartment house were destroyed in a fire set by arsonists who had stolen large quantities of reaped pimento from a farm in Lime Hall, Friday, November 13.

It is reported that by the time the St Ann’s Bay Fire Brigade responded, the house, some distance away from the main road, had been destroyed. However no one was found there although there were reports that the family members, including a child, were at the house at the time of the fire. Reports to The Times are that two adult males, two female and a visiting child were at the home. A fire team that returned there Sunday found no sign of the family members.

Supt Cameron said the entre situation was worrying and a major search would be launched for those unaccounted for.
