The St Ann police have named a man they say can help them solve the brutal weekend murder of three-year-old Nevalisia Campbell. The girl’s body was found with several chop wounds Sunday morning, July 10, hours after she disappeared from her home near midnight Saturday.

The man has been identified as Alexus Newland, otherwise called Dal Dal, of Milford, St Ann.

Young Nevalisia lived with her twin brother and mother in Orange Hill near Brown’s Town, St Ann.

It is being theorized that Nevalisia and her twin brother were home alone and their mother was a party in the community, Saturday night when someone entered the house and took the child away.

In the meantime, authorities say Newland must turn himself in to the Brown’s Town Police in St. Ann by 5:00 pm on Monday, July 11.

The report from the Corporate Communication’s Unit (CCU) stated that “Alexus Newland or anyone knowing his whereabouts is being asked to contact the Brown’s Town Police at 975-2233, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.”
