BAHIA PRINCIPE JAMAICA RESORT HONOURS THEIR STARS

bahiaBahia Principe Jamaica Resort hosted their annual Staff Awards ceremony last Tuesday at the Bahia Principe Village on the hotel property. A few of the attendees were Hon. Edmund Bartlett- Minister of Tourism (Guest Speaker), Hon. Shahine Robinson- Minister of Labour & Social Security, His Worship the Mayor Desmond Gilmore- Chairman, St. Ann’s Bay Parish Council, Senator Kavan Gayle – President, Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU), Hon. Norma Walters – Custos of the parish of St. Ann as well as corporate managers from the main office in Spain.Under the theme, “Honouring Our Stars”, thirty members of staff were given special prizes for their performance during the year of 2015, including five members of the recently opened Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay. The top honours were given in the categories of Manager, Supervisor and Employee of the Year, Five-Year Anniversary Awards, Hotel Manager’s Award for Excellence and General Manager’s Award for Excellence. The Department of the Year was awarded to Public Area, an announcement met with strong support from the audience. Other spot prizes were given for Best Dressed Male, Female, Best Couple in addition to, correct responses to trivia questions about the hotel.Event coordinator and Social Relations Manager, Farrah Blake said the event was a success because of the assistance received from sponsors, the planning committee and the hotel’s current suppliers. She made special mention of JHTA partners, Olive International Investments, Singer Jamaica Ltd, Digicel, ViewPoint, Bandoo Events, Therapedic, Executive Ground Ambulance Services (EGAS), ATL, Quickprint and CoolCash.Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort has been serving the Jamaican tourism industry for over nine years. The company will celebrate its 10th year in January 2017.
