Shock in St Mary after woman’s headless body found

There is outrage in St Mary following the discovery of the headless body of woman who had been missing.

Earlier reports had said the woman’s head had been severed. However police are saying that her head was not removed from her body, because of any inflicted injury, but by decomposition.

Dead is 46-year-old Erroline Chin, unemployed of Heywood Hall in the parish.

Chin was reported missing by family members on Wednesday, February 8. Her family was hoping that Chin, who was a heavy drinker, would be found and returned to them safely. However, their dreams were dashed last Saturday, February 11.

Reports are that residents in the Heywood Hall community detected a foul odour coming from bushes.

They went to investigate and sometime after 9 a.m discovered the headless body of a female.

The police were summoned and the head of the female was found in nearby bushes.

The police say they are continuing their probe into her death as they have not identified a cause of death at this time.

In speaking to The Times on Monday, head of the Area Two police, assistant commissioner (ACP) Fitz Bailey explained that there was no truth to reports that parts of Chin’s body were missing.

He said that the woman’s head was removed from her body as a result of decomposition.

Some media reports and accounts from residents had suggested that Chin was beheaded.

ACP Bailey indicated that the police are awaiting the post-mortem to identify the cause of death.

In the meantime, there have been reports by members of Chin’s family that she was a heavy drinker and she also suffered from a heart condition. She had been repeatedly warned about her constant heavy drinking habits.

The police are appealing to anyone with information into Chin’s death to contact the nearest police station.
