MAN BURNED TO DEATH AFTER CAR CRASHES IN WALL IN OCHI

A man was burnt to death, when his car slammed into a wall, and then caught fire in Coconut Grove, Ocho Rios, St Ann, early Monday morning, April 3.

Dead is 28-year-old Narval Christie of  Ocho Rios in the parish.

In a release, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), reported that: “Reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that about 3:00 a.m, Christie was driving from St. Mary to Ocho Rios where he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided into a wall. The vehicle caught fire. Christie’s charred remains were removed to the morgue.”

However other information on the crash reported to The Times, are that at about 2 a.m., Christie was travelling from White River and was heading towards Ocho Rios, when he lost control of the car in the vicinity of Tropical Battery, next to IRIE FM. The car crashed into the wall that serves as a ramp to access Tropical.

It is further understood that another motorist stopped and attempted to render assistance with a fire extinguisher, but the fire quickly spread.

Christie was said to have burned beyond recognition.

The fire brigade was called, and later put out the blaze.
