Cop gone missing INDECOM searching for cop linked to shooting death of entertainer

Investigators from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are trying to locate a cop, who allegedly shot and killed a St Mary entertainer three months ago.

INDECOM is expected to lay charges on the cop once he has been found.

The entertainer, 31-year-old Kriston Pearson, also known as Instaboss or Maffie of Charles Town, St Mary and Exchange in Ocho Rios, St Ann, was shot dead at a party on May 7, 2017.

Public relations officer at INDECOM, Denyelle Anderson told the North Coast Times that it is understood that the cop is not on the island at this time. She added that INDECOM, along with members of the police force are trying to locate him.

The news comes following a peaceful protest that was held on Wednesday, August 2 by family members and friends in Prospect, St Mary.

They claimed that the alleged killer cop was on the run and their protest was to highlight that no attempt was being to apprehend him.

Information to The Times is that based on the statements collected in the case, a prima facie case has been made out against the accused cop.

Pearson was allegedly shot by the police officer at a party at Farros Lawn, along the Trinity Main Road in Port Maria, St Mary in early May.

Police sources close to the North Coast Times said that at about 4:30 a.m., the police officer and Pearson were patrons at the party, when an altercation developed between both men. Pearson was shot in the chest area.

He was taken to the Port Maria Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The policeman was also taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital for treatment. It is alleged that Pearson had used a bottle to hit the cop during the altercation and this was when the officer drew his firearm to shoot Pearson at close range.

Other reports said that the dispute was over a woman that Pearson had brought to the party. Other reports were that the cop and Pearson bounced into each other and an argument developed.

According to Pearson’s mother, Carolyn Proudlove, a post mortem conducted on her son had revealed that he was shot twice, in his upper body (stomach) and the hip.
