The Police High Command says it takes seriously allegations made in the media by persons who were identified as members of the Police Force, recently concerning allegations of victimization.

The statement from the police high command did not mention the allegation of sex for promotions. However, it said “in light of these allegations, Commissioner George Quallo, met (Friday) with members of the high command to discuss the issue.

Commissioner Quallo has ordered that a probe be conducted to determine whether the established framework to deal with reports of unfair treatment within the Force is working (Grievance Procedure Policy). If not, then what steps should be taken to ensure that the best interest of all members of the JCF is secured.

The Inspectorate of Constabulary will oversee the process and report its findings to the Commissioner within thirty (30) days.
