Demarco

Fresh off signing his deal with rapper Akon’s Kon Live music label, dancehall entertainer Demarco has embarked on his first tour with the rapper. The sold out Konvict Kartel Tour which got underway in the UK a few days ago, sees Demarco as a featured act alongside Akon. Highlights from the tour shared by both Akon and Demarco are currently making the rounds on social media. Meanwhile, Demarco and Akon continue to promote the official music video, for their recent dancehall afro beats collaboration ‘No Wahala’ which has racked up just over three million views on Youtube.

Kymani’s Falmouth

Reggae singer Kymani Marley has put his passion and love for the sport of football to good use. Kymani has invested time and effort into creating a future for younger generations through the building of the Falmouth United Football team. Marley who originally hails from Trelawny, has not only invested in the team, but he has also taken on the task of refurbishing the Elleston Wakeland Sports Complex, a field which Kymani played on as a child, and the field that will become the home ground for the new football club.

Ding Dong

The dancer turned deejay Ding Dong rolls out with his entire Ravers crew for the video shoot for the song ‘Lebeh Lebeh’ which includes Beenie Man’s daughter Desha Ravers. Ding Ding pays homage to the late dancing legend Bogle in his new video “Lebeh Lebeh.” The Lebeh Lebeh dance is one of the hottest new dance moves in dancehall currently and it was invented by the Raver leader in early October. Ding Dong made headlines when he released a new single ‘Flare’ where he took a shot at Busy Signal, the Turf Boss responded with a new single called ‘Stay So’ on the New Box Riddim.

Can’t dim Bob

Bob Marley’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was recently found vandalized. Ana Martinez, spokeswoman for the Walk of Fame, tweeted out a photo of several apparent dents that were made on the star, which is located in the 7000 block of Hollywood Boulevard. Marley, an internationally known reggae singer, songwriter and musician was awarded the star posthumously in February 2001. Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame are regularly vandalized, but a frequent target has been to Donald Trump’s star, which since last year has had a wall built around it. It was at one point completely destroyed. As for Marley’s star, it will be repaired by the Hollywood Historic Trust at the cost of nearly US$3,000. Just recently Ana Martinez, spokeswoman for the Walk of Fame, tweeted “Bob Marley Walk of Fame star is being fixed by Star-maker Vince as we speak. Thanks to the Hollywood Historic Trust”.

Alkaline

Dancehall superstar Alkaline is gearing up to release the official music video for his smash hit single ‘Pretty Girl Team.’ The club banger produced by Armzhouse Records is one of the biggest Dancehall tracks for 2017 clocking almost 13 Million streams on YouTube since its release on March 20. According to sources close to the Vendetta deejay, the dancehall deejay recently shot scenes for the visuals. So far, the concept looks like ‘Hard Tackle’ deejay will be coaching a team of pretty girls. In other news the man himself deejay released his latest single “Hard Tackle” recently and already it’s the top trending dancehall song on YouTube. The single since its released has reached close to 480,000 views.

International

Tamar Braxton

Tamar Braxton isn’t into sharing when it comes to custody of her son. Tamar filed for divorce from Vincent Herbert, citing irreconcilable differences. According to TMZ, they now have the divorce documents, in which she wants full physical custody of four-year-old Logan. It sounds like there’s no love lost here. Tamar also wants the judge to turn thumbs-down if Vincent asks for spousal support. As for assets, Tamar lists one big-ticket item, their house in Calabasas, she acknowledges the house is community property. There is no evidence of a prenup, the couple has been married close to nine years.
