A family is grieving for a young man they said is gone to an early grave because he wouldn’t listen to so many people who loved him and asked him to keep away from bad company.

Adrian Black, of Trysee, near Brown’s Town, St Ann is one of two men shot and killed, during a still mysterious gun attack in Frazer Wood, near Highgate St Mary, Saturday, September 22. Black, also called Brammer and Boyus, unemployed, died a week short of his twentieth birthday that would have been September 29.

Police had named him as Andre Black of Frazer Wood and named the other man who died as Rayon Walker, also called Lord Evil or ‘Evil’.

Black’s mother said his name was Adrian and he lived in Brown’s Town.

He moved out of his mother’s house about three years ago to hang out with a gang led by Evil. Lord Evil, believed to be about 37 years old,and who operated out of Brown’s Town with a small gang, took up residence in Frazer Wood, in the neighbouring parish of St Ann, apparently as part of recent bail conditions. He was visited often by Black and others.

It is believed that the woman who was shot and hospitalized had gone with Black to visit Walker (Evil) on Friday or Saturday, when they were killed.

Paulette Wright also called Fatty, vendor in Brown’s Town, Black’s mother is grieving the loss of her son. So too are his eight siblings. Ms Wright constantly referred to him as Boyus, one of his pet names. She said she had repeatedly talked to him about the company he kept and urged him to pull closer to the young people in Trysee who socialized at the community centre.

BODY GUARD

She said he would not hear and continued to live a wayward life that had led him to dropout of Brown’s Town High School.

She said his friendship with Evil was particularly troubling. “Mi children talk to him, mi neighbours, him father… everybody talk to him but Boyus wouldn’t listen. Him come like Evil body guard.”

Ms Wright said in one of her last talks with her son he said he would die with Evil. “See now, see what happen?” She asked.

Ms Wright said the last time she saw him, Boyus asked her for money to go to St Mary. She said that was Tuesday when he saw her near where she does business in Brown’s Town and asked her to “Gi mi di little fare nuh?”

She said she gave him $200.

Ms Wright said she again scolded him about his closeness with Evil.

She said the family loved him and she could honestly say although he didn’t follow her instructions he was a good boy who never ever responded angrily to her or never raised his voice to her even when she scolded him.

She said she knew his father also tried to pull him back from the bad company. The last time I hear him father say ‘Well if you cahn hear, the only thing we can do is prepare to bury you.”

The family members went to see his body in Brown’s Town on Sunday, after it was brought to a funeral home there Saturday evening.
