St Ann police confirm holding 2 juveniles in Raven’s murder

The St Ann police have confirmed reports carried by the North Coast Times print and online that they are holding two teens for the murder of Raven Wilson, killed more than two weeks ago in St Ann’s Bay.
Deputy Superintendent of Police in St Ann, Rudolph Taylor told the St Ann Municipal Corporation (SAMC) Thursday, November 8, that the police have two juveniles in their custody for over a week now, in connection with the murder. “In that investigation we would have had two suspects in custody,” he told the SAMC.
“One of the reasons why we have not been able to charge them as yet is that we have sought the intervention of the DPP” for direction as the suspects are juveniles, DSP Taylor said.
The Times reported days ago that two youths were being held and that police had expected to charge them as far back as Friday, November 2. However, in addition to the intervention of the DPP’s office they were also waiting on the post mortem examination that had not taken place up to last week.
Raven Wilson, a student of Och Rios High School, was found dead on Sunday October 21, near her home in Top Road, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann. She had been reported missing Friday afternoon, October 19 after she did not return from school.
